Simple pleasures can instantly upgrade our lives. However, to enjoy life’s little luxuries, we have to first notice them. In our hectic world, though, this is easier said than done. Nowadays, we tend to believe we have to do everything simultaneously. Multitasking seems to be a must. Or, who doesn’t know a situation like this: TV on, quickly checking your phone, arguing with your partner, and having dinner – all at the same time? And this is for sure just one example out of many.
Concentrating on one thing at a time isn’t en vogue. But distraction not only leads to stress and overwhelm but also takes away the joy. What a pity, as there are so many things we can do to add value to our lives. Most of these simple pleasures won’t cost any money. But they connect us with our surroundings and the people we love.

How Can We Invite More Simple Pleasures Into Our Lives?
The recipe is easy, but the execution needs practice. The challenging part is that we have to re-learn to be present in the moment. We have to be fully aware of what we do right when we do it. The way to achieve this is to focus. What we do and what we think has to be inline. From my experience, the best strategy is to pause for a second before starting something new. It’s simply a matter of noticing your surroundings and being aware of what you’re about to do. There’s no need to overcomplicate it. Don’t tell yourself, “I have to be more aware and mindful in the future” – just be it right now.

And there you have it – 70 Examples for Simple Pleasures in Life, and how to invite them in.
